Hair loss is a very interesting topic, and because of this, there are many myths about it today. Many people enjoy talking about this genetic predisposition, mainly because so many things can cause it to happen. Hair loss treatments can be represented properly and improperly, therefore, you need to use healthy skepticism when making a choice. We wrote this article to help you understand a little bit more about the myths and facts regarding hair loss products today.

Just because you know something doesn’t mean you understand it, and that is the way it can be for hair loss being hereditary. There is a more complicated answer than what some people believe about their hair loss, that your father or mother passed it down through their genes. You inherit a lot of things from your father and mother, but your whole family tree passes their genetics down to you also. Whatever problems are most evident in your family, such as balding, the same problems could end up being yours also. With nothing but your mother and father to go by, you getting pattern baldness can’t be known for certain. When you add in your grandparents, aunts and uncles, you can get a better idea. There are many reasons for people losing their hair, and while genetics is the most common, it doesn’t get all of the blame. There are people who believe that hair growth can be stimulated by using certain alternative treatments. If you have male or female pattern baldness, probably none of these unproven treatments will stop your hair loss. One such treatment is hanging upside down, and standing on your head is another. The reason this is supposed to work is because hair growth will be stimulated when there is more blood flowing to your head. This practice might give you some benefits to your health, but for growing back hair, it is highly unlikely. Scalp massage is another alternative treatment, which is healthy and relaxing, but probably has little chance for hair growth. Such treatments can help you reduce stress, but they aren’t going to reverse hair loss.

Hair loss has even been attributed to washing your hair too often. When you shampoo your hair and notice some of it falling out, that is no reason to believe that is why you are losing your hair. This doesn’t mean, however, that washing your hair less often will prevent hair loss. It is just a normal thing for hair to fall out, no matter when you are washing it. It’s normal to lose a certain amount of hair every day, and this will often appear in the bathtub or shower when we wash it. You know that you have a hair loss problem when the hair you are losing everyday is not being replaced fast enough by new hair growth. If you have a problem with hair loss, it won’t get better by not washing it as often.

If you’re dealing with hair loss, it’s important to be able to separate the myths from the facts. Some medical conditions can cause hair loss. Other times, it could be caused by medication you’re taking. Check with your physician just to make sure if everything is okay. The better informed you are about hair loss, the easier it will be to find the right treatment.
